Before reading this entry, please read the two links above to get a grasp of what kind of message i'm trying to convey here.
Firstly, i'm a Muslim. Just because i support the Christians, doesn't mean i'm one of them or i have the intention to convert. And since this is a religous matter, i'm sure some fucked up fuckers out there will tell me to go dress decently or to read a book about dressing decently. I'm saying this because a retarded bastard just said that to me. Fucker probably masturbate to porn and thinks he's still a better human being than i am just because my opinion seems to be going against Islam (i hope you read this u SOB). This is my PMS week and you picked the wrong time to mess with me. Reminder, i'm not nice when you irrelevantly insult me.
I'm a fair and just person so if a particular practice by people from my religion seems to be wrong, i will say so. At least i say it DIPLOMATICALLY unlike some super conservatives who go around insulting people and other people's religion.
I believe you should RESPECT OTHER RELIGION. And even if you think other religion's Gods aren't real, just keep that opinion to yourself.
The guy who wrote the article above titled "‘Christianophobia’ in Malaysia?" has a VALID POINT. Why do i say so? Well, i'm surrounded by Muslims and some seem to have the idea that Christians are out there to destroy Muslims, convert Muslims into their religion, have hidden religous agenda, etc. And let's not forget about that X Mas incident where after sooooo many bloody years, suddenly there's an issue that Muslims can't celebrate X Mas? That statement isn't even right because Muslims don't celebrate it, they just go to family X Mas events because of invitation.
And how did the idea of "Islamopohibia" cam into existence? Many thanks to the terrorists. Majority of non Muslims out there probably think that Islam is a religion of violence.
We all have our conspiracy theories. And these theories seem realistic because of the circumstances that are actually happening.
Anyway, that article was referring to the VIDEO by an Ustazah who was talking why the celebration of Valentine's Day is HARAM.
Right now, i have no bf, so even if i support V Day, i don't see what benefits it brings me? So i doubt my opinion will be biased. My opinion is simply this : it's ok to celebrate V Day as long as you don't do things against Islamic values, like having wild sex just because you want to celebrate how beautiful is your so called love, partying, being alone together (like the video says) or whatever other immoral acts.
Is it wrong to give presents to your love one and to give him/her a card?
To begin with, there are too many versions on the ORIGIN of V Day that you don't even know which is REAL. Funny thing is that, this St Valentine is a PRIEST, so how can he be in love with a WOMAN? Only Pastor can get married and have children.
Over the years, the concept of V Day has changed drastically (if you are actually believing each of the theories on the origin of V Day). It has changed so much, that i don't see any Christianity values in it at all. To me, it looks just like a day where you CELEBRATE LOVE, as how there are days where you celebrate FRIENDSHIP, MOTHERS, FATHERS etc. Do you see any religious symbols during V Day? All i see are hearts here and hearts there.
And yes, that Ustazah did in fact INSULT the CHRISTIANS when she said : "tradisi bg masyarakat beragama Kristian, bukan agama Islam macam tu" a.k.a tradition by Christians and not Muslims.
You see, this is the problem with SOME MALAYS. Why can't they see that all religions ask their followers to do good things? It's the people who TAINTED the religion by doing IMMORAL THINGS. Immoral things happened because of human beings and their culture.
Just THINK.
You think Christianity promote ADULTERY? OUT OF WEDLOCK SEX?
Of course not but these stuff happens among Christians because they simply don't want to follow the teachings of the religion. There are some Muslims who do these immoral things but that doesn't mean Islam encourage them to do it.
Western cultures are to be blamed for this. Because majority of them are Christian, we think Christianity allow all those immoral acts. WE FORGET the simple fact that people just refused to follow the teachings of religion, thus the immoral acts being done openly and publicly.
So yes, the Ustazah's statement was so wrong and if the Christans demand an apology, she SHOULD APOLOGIZED. She said the immoral things are Christian's tradition. What she should have said is that it's the PEOPLE'S TRADITION. The WESTERN people's tradition. That's what happened when you can't tell the DIFFERENCE between RELIGION and CULTURE/TRADIITON.
Just think, now in Malaysia there is a high rise of baby dumping. Majority are Malay babies. Is it fair to say it's Islamic tradition to dump babies? Definitely wrong! Don't attack the religion for the wrongdoing's of the offender. It's the culture and mindset of the person that is to be blamed.
And according to the video, these are the possible VERSIONS of the origin of V DAY :
1. Idolized Goddess of Love. Pick a woman's name from a bottle and have sex with her for 1 year.
2. Rememberance of St Valentine's death since he spread Christianity. Tortured in prison. Helped prisoners to escaped. Wrote a LOVE LETTER to a woman. Can't buy V day card.
3. Valentine marrying off soldiers, against the King's order.
4. I didn't understand the 4th one.
5. St Valentine played an important role in destroying Islam in Cordova. Thus we shouldn't celebrate since it will mean we support him destroying Islam.

at some point u're right.. at some other point u're soo wrong.. here's some of my comment if u don't mind:-
ReplyDeletefirst!
yes.. true that some people they tend to feel their perfect n be so judgmental over wrong-doing of everyone around them! psychologically, they just worried about the world.. so we can say that maybe they just being ++neurotic! that's soooo wrong of them n yet we're Muslim.. that's d to differentiate for us.. as we know the hereafter n everything.. so maybe at some certain point they can *in d right way* giving u some advise but not the way u don't like it.. for sure!
second!
u know u're it's actually western culture which been spread so much around d world n Christianity have been absorbed in it.. so technically they want everyone to be like u n former-me~ to see that there's nothing wrong. but, trust me.. i've been in that place.. i've seen things as the way u've seen it.. i've posted the same thing.. but u know.. we not gonna just ourselves, our races, our nation if we still in this same thinking! what i meant to say is. just think the soo many knowledge u learn from Cristianity about this history.. some people said.. Alah it's just history lah~ do some people know that they actually reading history as well when they read Quran.. but they just wont do it.. why? because it's opposing western.. they didn't do it.. we never saw it on TV.. not on Glee.. not on any most popular fav tv show~ so, do u think this things make sense?
i'm not here to judge n to condemn.. u've done well!! cuz i didn't know that much history~ google it on that just make me feel so much effort to be put on!
n u are absofreakinglutely right on baby dumping!! gosh.. well what i think thats the reason why they banned this Vday! its good somehow but we should think maybe they have no other choice to make and do to overcome this problem.. We Muslim got culture shock for that.. that's why the impact on us is soooooo observant!
maybe other religion's they can overcome this cuz for some reason it might not a sin for them to do abortion n they can *make love* with whoever they want.. of course they use protection so that they won't get pregnant..
n for us, we're muslim, we just know how to love ONE guy only with all our heart! expecting they'll become our husband for real! so the 2 young couple tend to make mistake following the devil in their heart so called lust, that's where dumped-innocent-sometime killed-baby exist!
that's what we really really don't want to happen.. So what I think (n i need ur opinion too) it's the right thing to banned this.. BUT not to be banned totally n just blame on christianity or history on past! maybe on the bad influence from the western is d one to be blamed!
p/s: i was just looking around for this and try to convey ppl not to put heart broken love n hate love or something~ looks silly on us Muslim! like we're love-less.. its suppose to be just don't love stupid ppl who can't control their lust or hate ppl who over-reacting celebrating it.. well someone said..
"Any dude who waits for Valentines Day to treat his woman like a Queen is
failing 364 days a year to recognize that u're special everyday "
right? =)
n other thing is.. I live in western country on n off so after a while, I think this is all based on my observation.. Peace no war dear! =p
i don't think christianity absorb western culture. western culture is being absorbed into christianity.
ReplyDeleteAnd of all religion, Islam is the strictest, and i have no prob with that. But sometimes, people make it harder by creating new ideas or fatwas.
If u ban V Day,are you telling me the rate of baby dumping with DRASTICALLY DROP?
A guy can treat his woman like a queen everyday, only on special occasion he threats her extra special, example like anniversary or perhaps V Day (if you do it the right way).
At this point, i think abortion is better than giving birth to a baby only to kill it later. Or perhaps the only reason why they didn't do abortion is because they DON'T HAVE THE MONEY, no because of shame. And of coz killing it later is because of shame.
Im glad that at least Muslim people knows the true instead of listening to some ignorant women. This is the right way for Malaysian to get along. We need respect and understanding for each other. Im a Christian and I have no problem with following tradition malay culture when u attend a malay weddings. I think following their culture is just a way of showing respect. The speech spoken by her really make me feel sad, judging others religion on a national public talk show and giving wrong info some more. Tat is just so sad bout it. Im glad that ppl voice out her mistake and even muslim ppl do corrected her. I feel so 1 Malaysia after reading ur blog.. haha cheers sista! May god bless u always!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue Anne ;-). Sometimes when we are wrong, we must acknowledged it. Unfortunately the ustazah and most of the malays don't think so or perhaps too arrogant and ignorant to apologize. It shows they simply don't respect other religion and race.
