Just B*tching... not a Pessimist but a Realist: A little lesson on Persia

I think this movie is coming out this week. I planned to watch it. When i first saw the trailer, it didn't look that interesting but after watching few different trailers, it suddenly looked interesting. And i didn't plan on watching it just because Jake Gyllenhaal is acting in it and he looks hot and buff up :Fire :L. He's not one of my favourite actor but when i watched his character in the movie from the trailers, the character seems to be interesting :P.

According to some article, some were not happy at the fact that Gyllenhaal was cast as the Prince of Persia since he's not a Persian. There are so many other movies where the leading actor shouldn't be a white yet he's still a white, another example is the movie The Last Air Bender, i think the boy is suppose to be Chinese and not white. And another very old movie titled "The Conqueror" where Genghis Khan role is played by a White. Critics think these kind of movies are meant to show the white's superiority. They want to be hero in everything.

Personally for me, i don't think that's the case. We all know that Hollywood actors/actresses are far more popular than any other actors from other countries, unless they have already established their names in Hollywood, like Asian actors Jackie Chan and Zhang Ziyi.

Prince of Persia is a Hollywood movie. Do you know any famous Persian actors? Or actors who have Persian heritage and look like a Persian and hence deserving the role of the Prince of Persia more than Gyllenhaal? Nope. It's a norm that a movie is also popular not just because it has great special effects or story line, but also because of the list of actors and actresses in it. Gyllenhaal has many fans, so it's guaranteed that many would want to watch it. If you take some unknown actor despite the fact he might be talented, there's a chance not many people would watch it anyway. Gyllenhaal is a good actor and he worked hard for the role. He may not looked like a Persian but hell, at least he's dark haired and NOT A BLONDE.

Since it seems like as if i don't have any exams just around the corner *sarcasm*, i took the initiative to google up images on how a Persian guy would look like. Before googling, i have the image that they have black wavy hair and tanned skin and of course some Arabian features. But i also came across a pic of the video game of the Prince of Persia.
