Cairo, Egypt – D 4 : Drama, People & Cairo Version of Petaling Street

Today began with trip to the airport because we’ll be going to Cairo, Egypt. At the airport, we went through the scanning thing for our luggage and body, which is suppose to be pretty normal. It’s normal until that stupid jackass kept on telling me “Push, Push, Push”. The jackass was referring to my luggage and hand carry items that needed to be scanned. There were 3 of them all together. I mean, i have 2 heavy stuff, one is my luggage and the other my laptop bag, can’t he be PATIENT? I was very irritated with the way he said push push push. I felt like pushing his stupid head through the scanner. The way he said it was RUDE. And he was such a “gentleman”, can’t even be bothered to help me push my things a little bit so that it’ll enter the scanner. He was just standing nearby my stuff and instructing me to push! In my head, i was using the F word at him.

Not being familiar with the scanning system here, i didn’t know women have a different section and it was just nearby. Hell, i didn’t see any woman standing there, how am i supposed to know? There’s no big clear signs. The asshole idiot asked me to go to the other side. And inside there was a woman officer waiting. When i went through it, there was a beeping sound. I thought i had to go back and do it again but instead that stupid bitch told me not to. I called her a bitch because she talked to me in Arabic and wasn’t even looking at me and the way she was talking to me was rude and ROUGH. How rude is that? What, she thinks i understand Arabic? I get pissed off easily when people are rude to me, especially MEN, like that rude asshole ‘push’ idiot.

We only boarded the plane around 10 30am. It was just 1 and a half hour journey to Cairo by Egypt Air. I think MAS is still my favourite plane for many reasons but i’m too lazy to list all of them down here. Once we reached Cairo and get our luggage, we were greeted by our tour guide. He’s young, late 20’s or early 30’s and tall. Do i think he’s cute? Hehehehe. Michael Ballack still my number one! Again, this tour guide is a heavy smoker like our tour guide in Jordan. Argh, just hate the smell of cigarettes soooo much. The worst thing is that people in Jordan and Egypt can smoke in air conditioned places provided there’s NO SMOKING sign.

VIEW FROM THE PLANE.... ABOVE, NOT SURE IF IT'S THE NILE RIVER. BELOW, CAIRO CITY....

I looove the weather in Egypt. It’s cold. It’s still winter time here but gonna enter spring on 21st March. For today’s trip, it’ll just be a tour around Cairo and night time dinner at the cruise.

During the city tour in the car, we observed many things and the friendly tour guide told us many things. He said that the drivers in Cairo never keep to their lane. Indeed, that’s true. The drivers keep on cutting lanes without giving signal. Not only that, they honk every 15 seconds. I swear! My dad told me the environment in Cairo is exactly like in Jakarta (since he went there before). It’s too packed, the road is jammed and people just love to honked at each other. According to the tour guide, majority of the people live in apartments. You can see apartments EVERY WHERE. He said Cairo has 20 mil plus people living.

AND THE CITY TOUR BEGINS...

BEHIND ME, THAT TALL BUILDING SUPPOSE TO BE REVOLVING. IF I REMEMBERED CORRECTLY, THE TOUR GUIDE SAYS YOU CAN HAVE YOUR DINNER THERE WHILE THE THINK REVOLVES...

IN FRONT OF THE NILE RIVER...

ABANDONED MOSQUE...

Cairo is just so damn crowded with people walking and people on the road. By the way, i think i saw some Malaysian guys a.k.a the religious looking ones. The Al Azhar University is located here. Either they are Malaysians or they are Indonesians. Nah, they are definitely Malaysians, they look like those guys who are under the JPA scholarship :-D...

Then we passed a bazaar. The tour guide said that if we were to go to the bazaar, we must really negotiate the prices because prices can drop as much as 40% if we really bargain. But he also said that the bazaar doesn’t really have good quality stuff and described it as “Chinese”. I asked why. He said because the products nowadays are mostly from China.

Once the tour is over, we went back to the hotel for rest because later tonight we have a dinner cruise.

IM VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT TOILETS... I LOVE THIS HOTEL SO MUCH COMPARE TO THE MARRIOT THAT I STAYED IN JORDAN BECAUSE THIS HOTEL HAVE A HOSE BY THE SIDE...

During dinner cruise, we were entertained by performance of belly dancing and some guy who can twist and spin forever like non stop. I actually enjoyed the belly dancing, it wasn’t as erotic as what i thought, i guess belly dancing has its stages of erotic-ness and the one that i saw was probably like stage 5 out of 10. The singer Shakira is famous for belly dancing too and she’s more erotic although she doesn’t belly dance through out her music video so not fair to compare the belly dancer that i saw performing and Shakira. The belly dancing performance that i saw was very entertaining, love the look on her face, she was smiling the entire time! Not only that, her body movements were very in tune with the Arabic song and the song was very nice and sounded sexy :-D. It was sung LIVE too.

AT THE SHIP FOR THE DINNER CRUISE.. THE SHIP CRUISED ALONG THE NILE RIVER...

ONE OF THE PERFORMANCES.. THE MAN WHO CAN SPIN NON STOP FOR MORE THAN 10 MINS..

THE BELLY DANCING PERFORMANCE...

Videos of the belly dancing...
