CLP --> certificate of legal practice. a pain in the ass course.
I'm currently doing notes on Ethics and Advocacy. bloody hell there's a lot of stupid rules to remember. To make matter worse, u can't even bring in the Legal Profession Act. You put so many damn rules in your syllabus and you expect the students to remember?
Okay, so perhaps i can remember the rules without the damn statute IF there were no 3 OTHER DIFFERENT LAW FIELDS to be studied for the same paper. All these are combined together under the Professional Practice paper. So under the PP paper, you have Ethics and Advocacy, Land Law, Probate and Bankruptcy. What, you think my brain is some kind of computer that can store 250 GB of memory?
I realized complaining won't help me because in the end i have to sit for the bloody paper. As i remembered correctly a quotation from the movie of Prince of Persia (i saw the trailer. Jake Gyllanhal is soooooooo hot ;-p~~~~! (ok, irrelevant info)), actually i can't remember the exact quotation but it goes something like it's not impossible to do something, just difficult/ hard. This is the best way to described CLP.
If doing CLP is impossible, people won't pass sitting the damn exams despite the passing rate is less than 30% and it takes years for some to pass the exams. Neverthless, i still want to bitch and whine about this stupid exams because as i keep doing the notes and see how many sections and cases to remember, it just stresses me off. I'm angry at how the exams are being set. It's totally unfair.
And really, Ethics and Advocacy? You can't really teach people Ethics if they have ZERO GUILTY CONSCIENCE. You may make them remember all the damn rules to what a lawyer shouldn't do but it doesn't serve the purpose, so you might as well allow the students to take in the statute so at least they remember slightly where to find that irritating rule on how not to be a deceptive manipulative cheating lawyer.
Okay, i'm done bitching about CLP. Need to continue with the notes. Cursee u!!!
