My Himalayan Boo

Above is my new kitty pet, a 4 month old female Himalayan kitten. I have been having her since 12th November 2011. Her name is Boo :-D...

This is the first time I'm having a pedigree cat. Previously my cats are strays and I never thought I will get a pedigree cat because they are freaking expensive. Some people want a pedigree cat because they wanna show off how rich they are and i know some don't like strays because they find strays filthy. I love all kinds of cats as long as they are cats.

Not only is my cat a pedigree but she's a flat face pedigree. Himalayans are persians + siamese. I love Siamese cats like crazy (they are one of my fav breed) but I'm not into persians because of their flat face.

But the first time I saw Boo at the pet shop, i fell in love with her immediately. There were 2 other Himalayan kittens a.k.a her brothers. Apparently she's the only flat face one and i was like, flat face??

But a few weeks before I went to the pet shop, I looked after my friend's kitten for a day. I never had a cat at my condo because I thought it will be difficult to have one because I always let my cats roam in the garden. As you know, condos don't have a garden. So i thought if i brought a stray back, I will deprive him of his roaming freedom, hence another reason why I didn't bring my cat from my dad's house because she's used to staying outside.

After looking after my friend's cat for a day, it made me really want to get a cat. Preferably a kitten so I can create that human-kitty bond.

So after that incident, a friend of mind wanted to give her cat to me. Unfortunately, her cat was ran over by a car.

Another friend wanted to give me one of her kittens. On the day I was suppose to see the kittens, I was told that the mother cat brought the kittens to an unknown place. So I couldn't see the kittens.

That's when I went to the Pet Shop and saw Boo for the first time. I didn't think I would get her though. But when i went back home, I kept thinking of her. I was very keen to have a cat so that week itself i went to SPCA , thinking I would adopt a cat instead. The cats there aren't that friendly and most of them are adult cats. There are some friendly ones though. God I love the Siamese ones but they aren't friendly. But I didn't adopt any cats from SPCA.

So i went back to the pet shop and Boo and her siblings were still there. Was it meant to be? Even after the salesperson told me Boo cost a freaking RM 2800?? No way can wait til my birthday (a cat for my bday present) which is in january because by then it would be A DIFFERENT CAT.

God, the moment I hold one of the kittens I know I have to get one. In terms of appearance, I prefer Boo's brother because he wasn't flat face. But in terms of personality, Boo was the one and screw the flat face. Truth to be told, now i love to touch her nose coz it's soooo small and deep. She's not that flat anyway. Flat but not really.

So i got Boo. Boy, she's like no cat that I ever had before. Things I LOVE about Boo:

1. Litter trained.

2. Playful.

3. Always want to be around me. When Im in the study room, she will sleep in the study room. When I'm in the kitchen she will be close by to me, meowing for no reason but I suspect because she can't see what i'm doing. She always meow when im doing something on a table. Like when i'm online on the study table and i let her sleep by my side.

MY MAGICAL PRINTER PRINTS OUT CUTE KITTIES

4. Love the way she hops. Makes me go Grrrrrrrrrr....

5. She licks my neck every night and kneads my hair and neck... The kneading is painful because at times she uses her nails.

6. She adores me.

7. At times her facial expression can be soooooo funny.

8. love watching the way she eats.

9. love watching her poop.

10. The way she sleeps.

11. watching how clumsy she can be.

12. watching the way she sneeze.

13. watching the way she arch her back when she's about to run away

14. love watching the way she's about to pounce.

15. God i love everything about her!!

So the difference between a stray and a pedigree cat? Strays are not meant to be indoor cats while a pedigree is content to be just indoors (provided u never let them go out in the first place). Even when i kept a stray, i never like to let them out because when they don't come for one day, i already freaked out. I remember making my maid look for my cat around the housing area because the little rascal didn't come back for dinner. I just want my cat to be at home because it's safer for them.

And of course you can feed a stray cat any food. And their cat food is cheaper. I always believe cats don't need vaccination. I never give my previous cats vaccination, deworming or bring them to the vet but yet they still end up being healthy and no sickness. I won't dare take the risk with a pedigree cat, especially a persian since the flat face thingy is actually a deformity which humans find it "cute". I said it's a deformity because it causes breathing probs for the cat and excessive tears. Hence the tear stained face.

But be it strays or pedigree, my fav cat will always be a cat who is VERY AFFECTIONATE.
