Above are the news and video link to the incident where a Malay guy openly confessed that he's gay and proud of it.
I've been wanting to blog about this 2 days ago while the news is still hot but i was having writer's block and i didn't have a comfortable place to blog (busy moving so currently i'm blogging with my laptop on the stool and i'm sitting on the floor and it's hurting my back).
What can you conclude from this video based on what the gay dude is saying?
1. It's hard being gay in Malaysia, especially if you are a MUSLIM (when you are a Malay, it's implied you are a Muslim).
Do tell me, is Islam the only religion that says being a homosexual is a SIN? Islam and Christian tells the story of Prophet Lut/Lot, whereby during his time God turned the world upside down to punish those who practice homosexual lifestyle after the wrongdoers refused to listen to the prophet as the messenger of God. I'm not going to lecture you on religion but since the guy brought religion up, it's only FAIR that i do so.
Let's be truthful, it seems like Muslims are more AGGRESSIVE when it comes to religion and God. We don't like it when people make fun of our religion and neither do we like it when some Muslim suddenly want to be SO BLOODY OPEN and GO AGAINST THE TEACHING OF THE RELIGION OPENLY. We show our anger and some Muslims even go to extend of giving death threats (which i think in certain cases is way too extreme).
I'm not saying other followers don't care about their religion but perhaps they are more laid back, more on forgiving perhaps? Perhaps that is caused by the Western culture. I've seen so many cartoons and even shows making fun of Jesus. I personally think it's wrong, sorry if my sense of humor sucks. I don't like it if people make fun of my family, what more my religion?
Yes, to some of you non muslims out there, you probably think we OVER REACTED when we Muslims become angry when somebody draw a picture of Prophet Muhammad with the bomb on his head or when a Muslim killed the guy who made a very degrading video on Islam (he damn deserved it) BUT we are just showing over strong disapproval. If we just keep quiet, people will be MORE DARING to insult the religion even more. If your child did something wrong, do you, as a parent just keep quiet and let him continue doing that wrong thing? No. You must scold him and punish him, only then he will learn and won't dare repeat the same mistake.
Islam also believe in forgiving, but before you can forgive someone, sometimes punishment in necessary so other people won't dare repeat the same mistake.
2. It's hard being gay in Malaysia because of culture and religion.
Duh, one of Malaysia's RUKUN NEGARA is "Kepercayaan kepada Agama" a.k.a "Believe in Religion". So Religion have more priority than whatever damn human right you want to claim that contradicts the religion. I have to thank my dad for telling me this. He was explaining this to me in regards to why gay marriages in Malaysia shouldn't be allowed.
AM I AGAINST GAY?
Be gay all you want but do it privately. Don't go around telling people it's ok to be gay because it isn't. Even if you don't believe in religion, COMMON SENSE tells you that gay is just against HUMAN NATURE because only sex between a man and woman can produce a child. That's how the system is suppose to work. You know something is WRONG when it DOESN'T WORK. Being gay is all about LUST. Sex out of wedlock is wrong but yet people do it. It is caused by lust. But you can't go around telling people and encouraging people it's OKAY TO HAVE SEX OUT OF WEDLOCK. neither do you encourage people and tell people it's okay to have child out of wedlock. Yes, these things happen even if it's wrong but telling people it's ok is not right.
YOU THINK THESE GAYS WANT TO BE GUIDED TO THE RIGHT PATH?
People can't help you unless you help yourself. If you demand society to accept you into society as a gay, you demand the government to give rights to gay and allow gay marriages, how will all these indicate you want to be guided to the right path?
Allowing all these are just encouraging them to be further from the right path because you are giving them what they want.
IF YOU ACKNOWLEDGE GAY, YOU ARE JUST SPREADING THE "DISEASE"
You think i will be happy if one day i have a son and he chooses to be gay because gay is no longer taboo in society and it's a norm? What's happening now in this world is that whatever bad things that is taboo ages ago have been a norm. Like transvestite and having child out of wedlock. These have become norms. If you do any of these, there won't be shame because it's accepted in society TODAY.
If gay becomes a norm, people who won't do it might do it because it's a normal thing, nothing to be embarrass about.
This is Malaysia. Respect the cultures and religions. Do bad things privately until you get caught and then you face the consequences, don't force society to accept your "bad thing".
This gay guy and people who support him are just stupid idiots. Were they born yesterday? Don't expect to come up with something as stupid as this and declare it openly without getting death threats or harsh criticisms. And then have the nerve to say Malaysians aren't open or too conservative or Muslims are violent. Screw you and your way too liberal immoral values.
You know, I remember another post by a lembut guy who had a dilemma on being attracted to men. Why I say dilemma is because he knows of his religion but he falls helpless with men. And have dated some.
ReplyDeleteWell, these people are choosing. Which is good. However, sometimes, I just have to agree with you that the choice people choose to make is a little ludicrous. As you said, here comes death threats. But frankly, when was the last time you saw a death threat get executed? :P
i don't want to think that all laki lembut is gay but it seems that ALL ARE DEFINITELY GAY..
ReplyDeleteI just hate gays who get married to the opposite sex as a cover up but yet still continue his/her gay activities.
The last time i saw a death threat executed is on Theo Van Goh who insulted Islam horribly. The government refused to do something about the insulting video or take an action against him and in the end he was shot by an extremist Muslim. He had it coming. But i guess death threats aren't executed in Malaysia ;-p
Close to that. Yeah, i kinda agree on that. Not only are they not being fair for the opposite sex but also to themselves. The worst crime they could ever commit.
ReplyDeleteTheo? Hurm, how come I never came across the name. haha. The reason i could only point out death threats was because of how lovely it is for the Media to sell and never to inform. there's always something that's missing in the papers nowadays. I find it hard to digest them.
hehe even i came across him accidentally.. but do check out his video titled Submission Theo Van Goh.. Any Muslim will be so damn angry watching it.
ReplyDeleteMedias are known to sensationalized things. Tell stories only what the public wants to hear
"I've seen so many cartoons and even shows making fun of Jesus"
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's funny as well, and I'm a christian. But the thing is that, western media has the habit of making fun of Jesus, and the habit of bashing christians around (not all people believe in God over there). The world hates us, it's obvious, you've seen it. Yes, most christians are forgiving, some are not, but that doesn't mean we accept whatever insults we're given. It is in the nature of our faith to forgive, but not to think that sinful activities are acceptable. Homosexuality is wrong (just like any other sins; fornication, adultery, blasphemy etc), but people who are gay are not to be blamed, they didn't ask to be born like that. We are sinners too, only we're straight, not gays. The best we can do is to live our life in a way it will please God.
I have a lot of Muslim friends, and I understand your anger over this matters. If I'm in your shoes, I'll be angry too (I've watched the video Submission, I understand the offensive theme it brings). And I don't think sensible christians would think you're over reacting by being angry when anyone insult your religion. It's just that some people are "free-thinkers", they accept everything to be OK even when it's not. Don't get offended by these group of people..They won't even accept the truth even if you've spoken it to them.
And btw, isn't it "Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan" ?
Opps, sorry, yes, it's KEPERCAYAAN KEPADA TUHAN.. thanks for the correction.
ReplyDelete"gays not to be blamed"? They are to be blamed. They choose that path coz they follow their lust too much. If we used that argument, then what about pedophiles who have sexual urges towards children, but yet we call them sick, disgusting, etc. I'm sure they didn't want to be born as such. For me, these are the people who simply follow their lust too much. Only being pedophile is sicker.
I don't hate gays. I just don't like when they go around saying that homosexuality is NOT wrong.
And gays are different from hermaphrodite. Now i can agree if you said hermaphrodites didn't asked to be born that way.
Gays are not to be blamed for their condition, but they are if they spread the idea that practicing homosexuality is not wrong. Guess there's a bit of misunderstanding in my statement there, sorry...
ReplyDeleteEveryone are subject to lust, pedophiles are one of the worst case scenario. If they can't control their lust, that's when unwanted things happen. Same as us, can't control our desires, we'll shame ourselves to no end. But I don't blame them for being what they are, I blame them for the unacceptable things that they do. Some people don't quite realize why one day they're suddenly interested to individuals with the same-sex as them, they grow confused and such. Some of them succumbed to their condition and then goes around telling homosexuality is ok. I think maybe they wanted people to accept them, but end up having a lot of people hates them. Environment is to be at blame too, homosexuality is like a trend nowadays... Which makes it harder to speak sense to everyone thinking homosexuality is ok.
The word "intolerant" and "homophobes" are bound to get thrown at our faces because we don't agree with the homosexuality, but it's something we have to bear. And I'm glad I found someone as sensible as you. Yes, it's not gays I hate, it's the practice of homosexuality.
And I never, or will ever compare a gay to a hermaphrodite. Being a hermaphrodite is a physical issue, being a gay is usually the environment or anomaly in DNA or something, but it's not something I understand wholly. But I stand by my ground, I don't blame gays for being gays, but I'm not going to be tolerant to homosexuality either.
God bless :)
