Why I Want To Be A Lawyer...

Remember those primary school days where the school will make you write down in your school report what are your AMBITIONS when you grow up? To be more precise, the top 3 things that you want to be. Mine were either doctor, lawyer or nurse. There was a time "stewardess" was in that list but God only knows why in the hell i wanted to be one. But doctor and lawyer remain the top 2 ambitions, every year it will change, either lawyer will be no.1 or doctor no.2 or vice versa.

Perhaps I wanted to be a doctor because my father is a doctor. But I don't remember him trying to brainwash me to become one. But I guess during the 90's, everyone wants to become either a doctor or a lawyer because these are the professional jobs that are often talked about.

So when i entered high school, i took up science subjects. I like Biology but sucked in Additional Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Dreams of becoming a doctor slowly slipping away.

But I love writing essays and I love History.

Then I entered matriculation, and took up science too but again, I can only do Biology. So screw it, goodbye doctor. I decided on law because based on my SPM results, I think i'm capable of doing law since it's all about essay writing and reading textbook (history = text book). Actually, at one point i wanted to join hotel and tourism because I thought it was "cool" and "fun" but my dad didn't allow it. Thank God for that because I don't think my personality fits for tourism. I hate dealing with humans.

I did my A Levels for law and went on with LLB (University of London). Again at this point, I didn't know why I wanted to be a lawyer or whether I wanted to be one. All I know I have to study and at least get a damn degree. Exams was a pain in the ass.

And since im not a local graduate, I had to do CLP. If you thought LLB was tough, CLP is the toughest crappiest examination that you have to get through. Well, you can do your Bar at UK which is easier to pass but that's $$$$.

After CLP, I continued with CHAMBERING a.k.a practical for law graduates to become lawyers. I was expecting the worst (heard so many nightmarish stories about chambering) a.k.a become a coffee-making slave, get shout at, work overtime, get files thrown at, boring workloads, etc. And to confirm this chambering of a nightmare, I once did an attachment under a Magistrate and she told me she only did her chambering for 3 months and couldn't take it.

As I'm blogging now, I'm into my last month of chambering. If everything goes well, I will be finishing on 20th January 2012 and probably be called to the bar in March or April 2012.

Do I want to be a lawyer? YES.

Why do i want to be a lawyer? BECAUSE I LOVE THE WORK (I'm doing LITIGATION by the way, so I think it's fun to apply whatever you studied during your LLB and CLP to your work).

I know I have more to learn and more things to experienced. I've been lucky so far and I think God have given me so many SIGNS that I should be a lawyer (I'm not being dramatic). The signs?

1. My work place and my condo is nearby. 5 mins drive. How lucky can you be to get a workplace nearby?

2. It so happens I get to do litigation and a little bit of criminal litigation. Initially I wanted to do just conveyancing because I wanted to stay in the office the whole day (i was afraid to drive several months back then and if you do litigation, you need to frequently go to court). But my firm didn't need any help in conveyancing so I got to do litigation. And God I am thankful that I did litigation.

3. My bosses and my colleagues are nice and helpful and I love the office environment. Small but comfy. My boss never made me stay up late nor overworked me.

4. Despite not earning much allowance, I learn a lot of things during my chambering and I love learning everything. I'm expert at folding letters now. But seriously, when you are given a lot of work and different kinds of work to do, it enhances your experiences. Just because you are a lawyer doesn't mean you shouldn't fold or draft letters. You should do everything! Except making coffee.

5. So far no judges have screamed or thrown files at me but I know once I'm a fully pledge lawyer, this crap is bound to happen to me.

You see, if God does not want me to be a lawyer, he would make me go through shitty experiences to TURNED ME OFF from becoming a lawyer.

One thing is for sure, I won't be one of those lawyers going after a high end glamorous lifestyle. Money is still important though but it's not for me to show off.

But if i had the opportunity I do want to be a veterinarian. Hmmm but come to think of it, I can't see ANIMALS IN PAIN. It freaks me out. But I can see humans in pain though but it won't freak me out, I will just feel sorry for them. I wanted to be a vet because I can surround myself with animals.

And so............................ i shall be a lawyer with a job and kitty to love.

My Himalayan Boo

Above is my new kitty pet, a 4 month old female Himalayan kitten. I have been having her since 12th November 2011. Her name is Boo :-D...

This is the first time I'm having a pedigree cat. Previously my cats are strays and I never thought I will get a pedigree cat because they are freaking expensive. Some people want a pedigree cat because they wanna show off how rich they are and i know some don't like strays because they find strays filthy. I love all kinds of cats as long as they are cats.

Not only is my cat a pedigree but she's a flat face pedigree. Himalayans are persians + siamese. I love Siamese cats like crazy (they are one of my fav breed) but I'm not into persians because of their flat face.

But the first time I saw Boo at the pet shop, i fell in love with her immediately. There were 2 other Himalayan kittens a.k.a her brothers. Apparently she's the only flat face one and i was like, flat face??

But a few weeks before I went to the pet shop, I looked after my friend's kitten for a day. I never had a cat at my condo because I thought it will be difficult to have one because I always let my cats roam in the garden. As you know, condos don't have a garden. So i thought if i brought a stray back, I will deprive him of his roaming freedom, hence another reason why I didn't bring my cat from my dad's house because she's used to staying outside.

After looking after my friend's cat for a day, it made me really want to get a cat. Preferably a kitten so I can create that human-kitty bond.

So after that incident, a friend of mind wanted to give her cat to me. Unfortunately, her cat was ran over by a car.

Another friend wanted to give me one of her kittens. On the day I was suppose to see the kittens, I was told that the mother cat brought the kittens to an unknown place. So I couldn't see the kittens.

That's when I went to the Pet Shop and saw Boo for the first time. I didn't think I would get her though. But when i went back home, I kept thinking of her. I was very keen to have a cat so that week itself i went to SPCA , thinking I would adopt a cat instead. The cats there aren't that friendly and most of them are adult cats. There are some friendly ones though. God I love the Siamese ones but they aren't friendly. But I didn't adopt any cats from SPCA.

So i went back to the pet shop and Boo and her siblings were still there. Was it meant to be? Even after the salesperson told me Boo cost a freaking RM 2800?? No way can wait til my birthday (a cat for my bday present) which is in january because by then it would be A DIFFERENT CAT.

God, the moment I hold one of the kittens I know I have to get one. In terms of appearance, I prefer Boo's brother because he wasn't flat face. But in terms of personality, Boo was the one and screw the flat face. Truth to be told, now i love to touch her nose coz it's soooo small and deep. She's not that flat anyway. Flat but not really.

So i got Boo. Boy, she's like no cat that I ever had before. Things I LOVE about Boo:

1. Litter trained.

2. Playful.

3. Always want to be around me. When Im in the study room, she will sleep in the study room. When I'm in the kitchen she will be close by to me, meowing for no reason but I suspect because she can't see what i'm doing. She always meow when im doing something on a table. Like when i'm online on the study table and i let her sleep by my side.

MY MAGICAL PRINTER PRINTS OUT CUTE KITTIES

4. Love the way she hops. Makes me go Grrrrrrrrrr....

5. She licks my neck every night and kneads my hair and neck... The kneading is painful because at times she uses her nails.

6. She adores me.

7. At times her facial expression can be soooooo funny.

8. love watching the way she eats.

9. love watching her poop.

10. The way she sleeps.

11. watching how clumsy she can be.

12. watching the way she sneeze.

13. watching the way she arch her back when she's about to run away

14. love watching the way she's about to pounce.

15. God i love everything about her!!

So the difference between a stray and a pedigree cat? Strays are not meant to be indoor cats while a pedigree is content to be just indoors (provided u never let them go out in the first place). Even when i kept a stray, i never like to let them out because when they don't come for one day, i already freaked out. I remember making my maid look for my cat around the housing area because the little rascal didn't come back for dinner. I just want my cat to be at home because it's safer for them.

And of course you can feed a stray cat any food. And their cat food is cheaper. I always believe cats don't need vaccination. I never give my previous cats vaccination, deworming or bring them to the vet but yet they still end up being healthy and no sickness. I won't dare take the risk with a pedigree cat, especially a persian since the flat face thingy is actually a deformity which humans find it "cute". I said it's a deformity because it causes breathing probs for the cat and excessive tears. Hence the tear stained face.

But be it strays or pedigree, my fav cat will always be a cat who is VERY AFFECTIONATE.

Why So Angry?

The gazillion reasons as to why i curse when i drive :

1. The idiot didn't give signal when cutting into my lane.

2. The idiot was driving waaayyyyy tooo slow when the traffic light is green.

3. The idiot parked illegally, blocking my way, or making it difficult for me to drive out.

4. The idiot motorist who suddenly go right in front of you without giving signal.

5. The idiot motorist who is riding his motorcycle right in the middle of your lane and going sloooowwww.

6. The idiot who drive crazy fast then cut into your lane without giving signal. Just coz you drive an expensive car, it doesn't give you the license to drive like an asshole.

7. the idiot who HONKED at me despite the fact i gave signal that i want to do a U TURN which is a LEGAL U TURN.

8. A dead cat or dog by the road side.

9. Idiots who parked illegally when there are STILL EMPTY CAR PARKS AVAILABLE.

10. Idiots who blocked my car with their car and didn't leave their number.

Simply a Rude B*stard

I have heard many advises from people saying that if you are unhappy with your partner about something, don't shout or scold your partner but instead tell him or her in a NICE WAY that whatever he or she is doing is not to your liking.

Don't fight fire with fire. Out of curiousity, i watched the Namawee's video where he was THRASHING UTUSAN. Let me summarized the whole issue for you : basically he's pissed off that some journalist who didn't want to watch his stupid movie a.k.a Nasi Lemak 2.0. Is that just the reason why he got so pissed off? I don't think so since you can tell from his reaction in the video.

Why was he so pissed off at the journalist?
1. The journalist reminded readers of his PAST MISTAKE(S). His INFAMOUS NEGARAKUKU music video, It's one thing to humiliate a particular race, but it's another thing when you insult a particular RELIGION. Even i can't forget his insults in the video.

2. The journalist attacked his sincerity and genuineness in promoting racial unity. Even i don't believe his sincerity. From Negarakuku to all this 1Malaysia promotional videos/songs? Isn't he trying too hard to please everyone after being such a racist bastard? He should just shut up and disappear into thin air instead of doing all these 1Malaysia thing.

3. The journalist questioned why no severe actions were taken against him after the Negarakuku fiasco. It's like as if saying sorry was sufficient enough. Maybe after what Namawee did, he should just lay low instead of going around making more videos bitching and insulting more things like TNB and Malaysia football quality.

I googled up for this journalist's article because i wanted to see how bad did she criticized Namawee's movie since from the way he reacted, it's like as if she humiliated him soooo bad.But her article wasn't even OFFENSIVE as compared to his video. In her article, the journalist clearly stated that she has nothing against his movie but it's him she has a problem with. I know what she feels and i feel the same way too.

Why would people want to boycott Nasi Lemak 2.0?

Simply because they don't like Namawee and couldn't forgive him for his so called past "mistake" and encourage people not to watch his movie because it will make him richer and famous.

Why I wouldn't watch his movie?1.

1. I hate him.

2. I despise him.

3. Why should i watch a movie being made by him and give him profits? It's like going to a restaurant owned by an ex which u hate and making him richer by dining at his place.

4. I seriously hate him.

5. And like what the journalist of the article said, even if you give me FREE TICKETS, i wouldn't want to watch it. That shows how much i hate him.

Of course, some Namawee defenders will say :

1. Please forgive and forget. Don't keep grudges.

2. He's a talented entertainer. Really? If you say talented at being vulgar and rude i will sooooooo agree on that. AND OBVIOUSLY the journalist wasn't giving a review on his movie (as what the idiot claims).

She didn't even criticize his movie. She merely gave her OWN OPINION on what she really thinks about NAMAWEE.

I'm being very critical about Namawee because :

1. he overreacted. it's like as if i commented "i hate you" and you replied "go die bitch".

2. Why bitched about Utusan too? Why not just attacked the journalist? Or is this his "golden opportunity" to attack Utusan for some personal hatred?

3. The way he talks is like as if he's some kind of a hot shot gangster wannabe. *puke*

4. Attacked the journalist credibility. hello, at least she sounds more civilised and well mannered than this rude jackass.

I'll let you be the JUDGE as to whether the journalist deserve such humiliation from this rude donkey ass :

The Nagging Bitch

Women don't like to nag, however men cause women to nag by being selfish and inconsiderate. Who wouldn't make it a big fuss when you tell that person a few times not to do something but yet the person does it? It's f*cking irritating.

One of the MANY REASONS why i can't see myself married is that some men CAN'T PEE PROPERLY. Their penis is created like a hose, so why in the bloody hell can't they shoot into the toilet bowl without dripping ALL OVER THE BLOODY TOILET SEAT? One of the explanation from my fellow male friends is that it's UNAVOIDABLE because after peeing the urine will drip, hence the urine stains around the toilet seat.

That's utter BULLSH*T.
1. don't u wash after peeing?
2. don't u look where u shoot?
3. and if u see there's pee stain, aren't u civilised enough to clean it?

As a woman, if i have a husband who does this? I'll be nagging the whole time especially if he keeps on doing it after i told him off so many times. Why in the f*cking hell do i have to clean up after him? Do i look like a freaking maid? A toilet cleaner?

If i live under the same roof with him, do i always have to look around the toilet seat to make sure there is no urine stains?

Do i have to pull him by the ear, and bring him to the toilet and show him the mess he made?

Or i have to clean up after him just because i'm his freaking wife and it's SUPPOSEDLY A SMALL MATTER?

And i refuse to accept that peeing all over the toilet seat is a MAN'S NATURALLY THING TO DO.

The Racist Offensive Nivea Ad

Read this article first : http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/nivea-pulls-offensive-ad-185220424.html

My first impression when i read the article and look at the ad, it does look and sound racist. "Re-civilize" yourself. From the ad it would look like having afro hair and thick beard isn't idealistic.

But after a few mins of thinking, you can look at this whole pic from another point of view. Had the model been a WHITE MALE about to those A WHITE MAN'S HEAD with long messy hair and thick beard, would it look racist? Probably it will look ANTI HIPPIES.

Logically speaking, if a white man were to look messy, he would have long messy hair with thick/long beard. Now if a black man were to look messy, obviously he would have a messy afro hair with thick/long beard. You can't expect a black man to have messy long straight hair right?

Ideally, the image of a well groomed man is a man with SHORT HAIR and CLEAN SHAVEN. I know some Africans are proud of their afro hair because it's unique. But just because someone ask you to wear a wig over your afro hair or to cut it short, it doesn't have to be a racist thing.

People always tell me to straighten my hair because having a straight hair doesn't make you look messy as to having curly hair. Well screw them. I'm not gonna waste my money straightening my hair because i love my natural curly hair but yeah i do admit those with straight hair don't look messy. Then again, curly hair is sexy :-D.

Let's face it, society already set the standard of what is "well groomed" or "hot". And for a man, having long hair doesn't mean he's well groomed.Only minority of men can pull off long hair and still look hot. But long hair is never "office-material". The term metrosexual man doesn't apply to mean with long hair.

Basically, black men can't have long hair. They can only have a big hair if they never cut it.

So i would think Nivea has a good defence in making the ad instead of just issuing apology and saying they are wrong. Re-civilized means looking "non messy". And if a black man would look messy, he would have a messy afro and beard. And if a white man were to look messy, he would have long messy hair and beard. I can't really see clearly what products Nivea is promoting in the ad but as far as i know, when you say Nivea, i would think deodorant and facial cleanser. In other words, re-civilised means with Nivea products, you groom yourself to look more presentable.

A piece of advise to the US, maybe they should quit using black models since every time a black model is being used, there will be a racism issue. Like a black model being made fairer. Duh, it's photoshop. Im sure white models are being made to look whiter. Or slim people being made to look slimmer. Photoshop means going overboard with everything with the objective to make things look fake and perfect.

Sometimes the minority can be wayyyyyyy to sensitive and want to make an issue out of everything. If minorities are involved, they will start using the "racist attack". I'm not just talking about the blacks in the US but also the minority in Malaysia. I remembered once there was an issue with a local aid where a character representing the Indian community is being coloured "too dark". Or the chinese character being drawn with "small eyes" a.k.a "mata sepet".

Why is this racism? Aren't majority of Indians dark brown and majority of chinese have small eyes? Why do you have this idea that being dark brown or having small eyes is insulting? Honestly, i never think that being dark brown and having small eyes is a bad thing until the people themselves express their dissatisfaction of having dark skin or small eyes. Dark people want to bleach their skin to make themselves look fairer while those with small eyes want to wear heavy eye makeup or go for operation to make their eyes bigger.

Who's hating who now? Others hate you? Or you hate yourself for having a particular trait that only your race have?

Issues of The Week (15-18.8.2011)

To sum my whole "exciting" life for this week :

1. COOKIES

Raya cookies are getting more and more freaking expansive. I recently bought this raya cookies for RM 35 for 50 pieces and addicted to it like CRAZY... I've been eating it NON STOP... It's called Snow something.. but it's not your typical raya biscuits.

2. PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE'S RELIGION

Open this link : http://my.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporescene/man-complains-muslim-prayers-mcdonald-outlet-092253428.html

People with SHALLOW KNOWLEDGE about ISLAM like to make statements saying the Azan is LOUD, ANNOYING, IRRITATING ETC. do you actually know what's the purpose of Azan? It's to remind the Muslims that it's time for their prayers. Is that something bad? Annoying and noisy? hello, we face a lot of noisy things in out life but yet we can tolerate it? Disco music playing for hours you can tolerate? But Azan which is being played for less than 5 mins is irritating?

Which part of Azan is irritating? Are you irritated by its nobleness? Or do get simply irritated with everything that relates to a Muslim and Islam because you simply hate the religion? Face it. You live in Malaysia.

3. MEN

No comment except that they are irritating, inconsiderate, selfish and sweet talkers. God only knows why i'm not even close to becoming a BISEXUAL.

4. A PARTNER AS AN INVESTMENT

Being in a relationship means you have to GIVE AND TAKE. You can't just givveeeee or just receeeeeiiiive... It will be unfair and selfish. So why be in a relationship? Because you know your partner can give you something back in return a.k.a a relationship is an investment. if you can't get anything out of the relationship, what's the point of being in one? Unless you looooove having and keeping BAD INVESTMENTS to show off your STUPIDITY.

So when i hear stories of how partners seem to "suffer" in a marriage, i don't really feel sorry for them especially if they are part of the cause of the problem.

So men spend a lot of money the moment they decide to get married right? The common problem faced by married men is that they are being DEPRIVED OF SEX. So let's see, the husband pays 70% or 80% of the bills but being deprived of sex from the wife. Perhaps the husband feels gratitude because the wife bore him children. Then again, if in the end he has to pay the MAID to clean, cook and look after the children and yet the wife can't entertain him, what is he getting? The wife is of course getting what she wants. Married and having the bills paid.

5. WORK

Argh..... dear boss, i can't do last minute work!
